Your options at a glance

From Nice airport: the Zou line 80 Express

The direct airport coach is Zou line 80 Express, run for the Région Sud. If an older guide gives you a different line number, line 80 is the current one. It leaves from Nice Aéroport Terminal 2, calls at Terminal 1 five minutes later, then runs to Monaco and on to Menton every day of the week. A free tram links the two terminals.

When it runs

On the timetable valid from 2 June 2026, the first coach leaves Terminal 2 at 08:30 and the last at 22:00. Most daytime departures are timed at 45 to 55 minutes from Terminal 2 to Place d’Armes in La Condamine. In Monaco the timetable gives times at Place d’Armes, Office de Tourisme and Sporting (Bay Hôtel), and the route map also shows stops including Monte-Carlo (Casino), Grimaldi Forum and Larvotto. Heading to Menton, Monaco stops are for getting off only.

Going back to the airport, the first coach leaves Place d’Armes at 06:40 and the last at 20:15, due at Terminal 2 at 20:48. Arrive at the stop five minutes early. Times are given for normal traffic, so leave a margin for a flight.

Step-free travel: Zou says all its coaches are accessible, but you need to book with Zou customer service at least 36 hours before you travel, on 04 13 94 30 50 (every day, 07:00 to 20:00).

Timetables change with the seasons. Before you travel, check the current line 80 timetable on zou.maregionsud.fr.

By train from Nice or Italy

Regional TER trains on the coast line stop at Monaco-Monte-Carlo. Visit Monaco gives the journey from Nice as 23 minutes, with roughly sixty round trips a day, and 26 minutes from Ventimiglia in Italy. TER trains need no reservation.

The station is underground, reached by escalators, stairs and passageways. Pick your exit with care, because they come out in very different places:

  • Monte-Carlo exit, on the Pont Sainte-Dévote. Lift available.
  • Parvis Sainte-Dévote, by the roundabout between rue Grimaldi and boulevard d’Ostende, near Port Hercule.
  • La Condamine, in allée Lazare Sauvaigo. Lift available.
  • Fontvieille / Le Rocher, in avenue du Prince Pierre, the way up to the Rock. Lift available.

Coming from the airport, TER trains also call at Nice-St-Augustin, the station for the airport district, so you can avoid going into Nice-Ville. Check the connection on the day.

By the coast road bus: Zou line 600

The slower, more scenic option is Zou line 600, which runs from Nice (Square Normandie Niemen, by Port Lympia) along the coast through Villefranche-sur-Mer, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Èze-sur-Mer and Cap-d’Ail to Monaco and Menton. In Monaco it stops at Place d’Armes, Princesse Antoinette, Sainte-Dévote Gare, Monte-Carlo (Casino), Office de Tourisme, Place des Moulins and Saint-Roman. You can pay by bank card at the validator on board. We have not yet confirmed the current single fare, so fare to be confirmed: check zou.maregionsud.fr.

By helicopter

The flight from Nice airport to the Monaco Heliport in Fontvieille takes around seven minutes, says Visit Monaco. The regular service is run by Monacair/Blade. We do not quote fares here because they change often: check with the operator.

By car

Visit Monaco recommends the Parking des Salines at the entrance to Monaco, open 24 hours, where parking includes a 10-journey ticket for Monaco’s buses. Our full parking guide is to come.
